What Narayana SIP is

Narayana SIP is the account layer that lets a compatible softphone, IP phone or PBX register and place calls using standard SIP signaling. It separates the account from a single device, so users can choose the client that fits their workflow. See also the glossary and FAQ.

What Narayana VoIP is

VoIP is the broader method of carrying voice over IP networks. In Narayana CYou, SIP provides the setup language while VoIP describes the actual internet-based calling experience.

SIP account basics

A SIP account normally includes a username, password, server address and transport settings. Users should store credentials safely and only enter them into trusted calling software. See also the glossary and FAQ.

Softphone usage

A softphone is often the quickest way to start. Install a SIP-capable app, add the account credentials, check microphone permissions, then place a short test call before relying on it for longer conversations.

IP phone usage

IP phones can be useful for desks, support rooms and repeat calling. They usually expose fields for SIP server, proxy, username, password, codecs and NAT behavior. See also the glossary and FAQ.

SIP routing

Routing determines how a dialed number reaches the next network. Correct number format, balance, destination availability and caller ID policy all influence the result.

Codecs

Codecs such as G.711, G.729 and Opus convert voice into packets. Wideband quality, bandwidth use and compatibility should be balanced according to the network. See also the glossary and FAQ.

Latency, jitter and packet loss

Real-time calling is sensitive to delay, unstable packet timing and missing packets. Wired internet, stable Wi-Fi, QoS and a nearby network path can improve quality.

Prepaid usage

A prepaid balance helps keep calling controlled. Registration is free, and the account can be topped up from 1 EUR before using paid telecom services. See also the glossary and FAQ.

Setup flow

Register, log in, check balance, choose a SIP client, add credentials, select codecs, make a test call and contact support if registration or audio fails.

Quick FAQ

Do I need a softphone for SIP?

A softphone is the easiest start, but a compatible IP phone or PBX can also register with SIP details.

Which codecs should I try first?

G.711 is simple and compatible, while Opus may be useful where supported. The best choice depends on bandwidth and endpoints.

Why does registration fail?

Check username, password, server, transport, firewall, NAT behavior and whether the account is active.
